Too much traffic. Continuation of cycleway needed and more cycle parking.

Add cycleway on St Augustines Rd westbound from Bacons Lane to the Boythorpe Rd roundabout. There are already cycle lanes on Whitecotes Lane west of the roundabout, and adding a short segregated link here would make the Bacons Lane route ... [more]

Provide cycleway (currently a footpath-only link here) between Ashdown Drive and Walton Crescent, for a quiet cycling route through towards Boythorpe Rd)

Improve cycle detection at traffic signals. The vehicle detection on the traffic signals under the railway bridge doesn't seem to reliably pick up cyclists (possibly insufficiently sensitive detectors), leading to excessive waits at red ... [more]

Improve cycle detection at traffic signals. The signals seem to default to the A632 movement, and while motor vehicles approaching from Spital Lane and Piccadilly Road are detected and given greentime, this don't seem to reliably pick up ... [more]

Add a traffic signal stage for cyclists from Linden Avenue. While the Chatsworth Road and Storrs Road arms of the junction are signalised, the Linden Avenue arm (providing a cycle connection) is not - so to cross from Linden Avenue to St ... [more]

Needs a cycle crossing improvement at Park Road. Currently there is noting to assist peds or cycles.

Cycles lanes here are ineffective. People park here and walk into town for work (full between double yellows by 845 daily). This prevents use for commuting into town or to the many nearby schools....which was presumably why the lanes were i ... [more]

Full link up of cycle paths to schools, create a network that enables children to travel alone where appropriate and encourage parents to cycle with children where necessary.

Effectiveness of cycle path close to the r/bout - lane constantly full of cars. Opportunity here and throughout this area to link to schools to reduce school-rush-hour traffic

Upgrade footpath to shared route to enable cyclists to avoid Newbold Road as far as the Pomegranate Park development

Footway upgraded to shared path to enable cyclists to safely get between the canal and the Roundhouse.

There's needs to be a designated cycle provision on Hasland Road either by taking some of grass verge or restricting parking on the service road on it's west edge. Lots of cyclist going up hill slowly southbound on Hasland Road to the fr ... [more]

This bike route from hornsbridge through to boythorpe road is very popular and I've regularly seen as many as 4 people waiting to cross the road in turn due to social distancing.

Along the A619 provide a dedicated cycleway by moving motor vehicles to one side getting rid of hatched areas and separating cycles by planters.

Secure cycle parking should be provided at the car park at Ringwood Park to encourage people to cycle there and go on walks. Maps of walks to be provided- both notice board s and on line

Enable cycle access from New Beetwell Street across St Marys Gate & through underpass to Bridge Inn

Provide safe crossing for cycles, linked to widened pavements that enable crossing Ashgate Road from Chester St to Holmebank West

This cycle route is very narrow & in poor condition

This cycleway is very narrow & could be widened

Improve this cycle link

Link IBIS hotel to cycleway

Link station link cycleway through railway underpass to Clayton Street

Improve underpass for cycle access

Provide wider cycle lane to get from railway underpass & Clayton St to Spital

Provide access from cycleway to shops for cyclists/pedestrians

Sharp & narrow loop back of cycle lane over bridge from town centre isn't sensible. Could instead loop back to the side of Queens Park cafe & under the bridge

Narrow road to provide a bidirectional cycle lane from the town centre to cycle routes going west

Extend cycleway from here into town centre

Needs to be much wider for safe social distancing.

Not wide enough for comfortable social distancing especially when busy.

Create Bridleway across to Piper Land linking Brookside to Ashgate Road

Create dedicated cycling and pedestrian link to Greendale Ave. Links Walton to Holymoorside and then enables children and parents to cycle to Walton & Holymoorside School safely... presently I expect nearly all drive. Also enables the link ... [more]

Shared path needs resurfacing, too muddy for commuter use in wet weather

Storforth Lane very wide, could be narrowed with mandatory cycle lanes on each side

Excellent cycle path through estate doesn't connect out to Storforth Lane

Extend shared path into Brimington

Cycle path is disjointed as it crosses road. Cyclists and pedestrians frequently cross 4 lanes without protection rather than add distance

Great protected lane through the rbout but parked cars on left are hazard, especially when taking the rh turn (heading uphill towards Newbold)

Cycle lanes in both directions are always full of parked cars.

Ghost lane in the middle of Highfield Lane could be removed and a segregated cycle lane installed in space freed up to protect users heading up the hill.

Widen the cycle path prior to enable a shared pedestrian and cycleway to join the cycle lane prior to Horns Bridge. the wide grass verge would be sacrificed to enable the scheme

Get rid of ghost lane in middle and put safe, segregated bike lane on uphill section of the road.

Narrow Chatsworth Road to create segregated cycleway between Brookside Bar and Queen Mary Road

Narrow cycle lane on bend - see #104442 on other side of road

northbound cycle lane looking south to show narrow lane round band with railings and pavement below road level. With the construction taking place why not take to opportunity to move everything over and make this safer?

Point where cycle path re-joins road after going onto pavement to pass a central reservation that makes road narrow. Note give way lines as this is also a road junction from left. also note that the cycle lane from this point is narrow (and ... [more]

Towpath junction with footbridge over A61 to Wharf Lane (left) and route over river to right - note the raised access if using a cycle...

How not to do a strategic local cycle route... The Rother Washlands crosses the river here...

This is a classic - how do you cycle along this strategic local cycle route? Better barriers are required!
